Richard “Rick” Elsworth Crum, 67, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Fairhavens Christian Home, Decatur, Illinois.
There will be a private family service at a later time. Memorials may be made to Maroa Forsyth Trojans Football or Baseball Programs, 610 West Washington Street, Maroa, Illinois 61756. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is handling arrangements.
Rick was born in June of 1950, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Betty and Hubert Crum. He was a graduate of Maroa Forsyth High School and attended college. He worked as a truck driver. Rick married Kathleen Crum in October 1991. Surviving are his wife; son, Richard and wife Lisa Crum, stepson Nickolas and wife Elizabeth Waddell, stepdaughter Keli and husband Marcus Taylor; sisters Brenda and husband Raymond Baker, and Glenda McMinn; grandchildren, Joshua, Alexis, Kortney, Trevor, Casey, McKenzie, Bryson, Amaya, Maddie, Kole, Kai; and great grandchildren, Lily and Tucker.
He was preceded by both parents, Hubert E. Crum and Betty Crum.
Rick was a loyal husband and devoted grandfather “Papa”. He was the oldest child of three children. He enjoyed fishing, Maroa Trojans football games, Cubs baseball, Bears football, Fighting Illini, and anything with his grandchildren.
His favorite saying was “if it doesn’t rain today, it’s gonna miss a good chance.”
