Gerald Van “Willie” Williams, 86, of Harristown died at 1:02 pm. Thursday July 5, 2018 in Heritage Health Care Springfield, Illinois.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 am. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Life Foursquare Church (2954 West Ash Street  Decatur, IL. 62526) with Pastor Mark Cooper officiating. Visitation will be one hour before also at the church. Burial with Military Honors by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Christian Broadcast Network (977 Centerville Turnpike Virginia Beach, Virginia 23463). Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Gerald was born in May of 1932 in Quincy, Illinois, son of Floyd and Ruth Williams. Gerald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for PPG for twenty-nine years retiring in 1994. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening flowers and vegetables. Gerald loved to watch Christian Television and was a very outspoken Christian and member of Life Foursquare Church.

Surviving are his wife Kathy M. Williams of Harristown, children, Patricia Ann (Kevin) Hill of Rosemont, Minnesota, Bruce Edward (Tina) Williams of Latham, Illinois, Theresa Marie Williams of Decatur, Alan Henry (Kelly) Williams of Decatur, Chris Leon Williams of Tower Hill, Illinois,  Stephen Thomas Williams of Cisco, Illinois, James Floyd (Jonna) Williams of Decatur, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Williams, mother and step father, Ruth and James Wieher, first wife Margaret Williams, infant son, Gerrard Williams, four brothers, Gaylan, Bennie, Jack and Fred Williams.

Gerald was a great husband, father and grandpa who loved the Lord and loved to tell others about him.
