Allen Michael Klaus 1945-2021

Allen M. Klaus, age 76, died on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 pm in his residence in Taylor Mill, KY. There will be a graveside service on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 am in North Fork Cemetery with the Macon County Honor Guard officiating. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service & Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Allen was born on July 8, 1945 in Decatur, IL, the son of Carl H. Sr. and Mary I (Davis) Klaus. He was a 1963 graduate of Lakeview High School, Decatur, Illinois and a graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA. He was a retired medical computer system installer. Allen had served as a corpsman for three years in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Yorktown along side his brother Larry W. Klaus Sr. They enjoyed serving together.

Allen was very family oriented, always attending family functions. He hosted Labor Day parties on the river. Allen loved to tease his nieces and nephews constantly! He was always up for a game of cards and would brag and let everyone know every time he won. Allen was a great cook. When he came to Illinois, he had to fix his famous spaghetti dinner.  The nieces and nephews would fill the kitchen. Allen was cantankerous but lovable, and his shenanigans were legendary. His sense of humor and orneriness will be missed.

He is survived by his siblings: Carl H. Klaus Jr. (Brenda), Sharon Traughber (Bob), Kathy Chambers (Walt), and Bruce Klaus (Kathy); three cousins, ten nieces, nine nephews, 23 great nieces, 14 great nephews, three great great nieces, and three great great nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, Uncle Chuck, brother Larry Klaus Sr., sister Carolyn McWilliams, brother- in- law Tim McWilliams, nephews Larry Jr., Jason Klaus, and Brian Oliver, and niece Carolyn Sue Joplin.

Please sign the family guestbook.
