Charles William “Bud” Vallandingham, age 82, of Decatur passed away unexpectedly in his home on May 15, 2021.
Bud was born April 21, 1939 in Bloomington, Illinois, son of Malcolm and Dorothy Vallandingham. He married Mary Ann Smyser on December 18, 1960. She preceded him in death along with his parents and granddaughter Amber.
Surviving are two sons, Kirk (Colleen) Vallandingham of Decatur, Kevin (Lynda) Vallandingham of Hamilton, New Zealand, daughter, Tina (Wayne) Perrine of Findlay; grandchildren, Arica, Isaiah, Jordan (Liz), Kali (Kenny), Jonas (Brianna),
Hunter (Jobana), Maddie (Jacob), Parker, Reese, Drue; great grandson Otto, great granddaughter Monroe and another great grandson on the way. Siblings; Jim Vallandingham, Lola Williamson, and Patricia (Wayne) Gustafson.
Bud worked for Globe Glass and then retired from Glass Specialty after more than 40 years. He enjoyed watching the St Louis Cardinals and Illini basketball teams. However his greatest joy came from enjoying his grandchildren and cheering them on in all their sports. Bud was the most loving and kind man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He never liked to be the center of attention and per his wishes there will be no services.
