Daniel Dean “Dan Dan the Pepsi Man” Phillips, age 80 of Decatur, died Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Memorial Medical Center Springfield, Illinois.
A Graveside Service Celebrating Dan’s Life will be held at noon Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, Illinois. The family will greet friends at Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service on Tuesday from 10 am to 11 am. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s or Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Dan was born in May 30, 1940 in Kincaid, Illinois son of Frank Bernard and Juanita (Hawkins) Phillips. He married Barbara Ann Cook on June 24, 1962 in Taylorville, Illinois. Dan was a route salesman for Pepsi for many years. He was a manager of the Clark Gas Station in Decatur prior to his career with Pepsi. He was a member of Family Motor Association and served as a Safety Officer for several years. He was also a member of the Lincoln Land Camping Club.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Phillips of Decatur siblings, David Phillips, Carol Kerwin, Rose Black, twelve nieces and three nephews, friends, Tim Cassidy and Mary Morrow, brother and sister in law, Jeanetta and Paul Hubner, Aunt Martha Phillips and many friends over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Phillips, sister, Judy Holcom, nieces, Sally Hathaway, Sara Kerwin and Linda Issaacs.
