Daniel William Edward Wheeler, 57 of Kenney, died at 5:53 am. Sunday, September 24, 2017 in his home.
Memorial service to celebrate Dan’s life will be 6:00 pm. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at First Christian Church ( 3350 N. MacArthur Road Decatur, Illinois 62526). Pastor Tim Revis will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to The Macon or Dewitt County Humane Society. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Dan was born in May of 1960 in Decatur, son of Clifford and Mildred Wheeler. He attended Maroa Forsyth High School. He was a car salesman for Bob Brady Auto Mall and several other area dealerships. Dan owned and operated Royal Limousine Service and was a member of Teamsters Local 279. He loved to play and watch the game of golf. “Go for it, no guts no glory” was his motto on the links.
Dan is survived by his longtime significant other, Tina Dash of Kenney, son Michael and wife Shelley Hicks-Wheeler of Cerro Gordo, daughter, Angela Wheeler of Effingham, grandchildren, Matthew, Jason, Gabby Wheeler, Lathan and Madison Hicks, brother, Dennis and wife Diane Wheeler of Decatur, sister, Debbie Thiebaud of Kentucky.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
