David was born in January of 1958 in Decatur son of Stan and Wilma Gessford. He graduated MacArthur High School and went on to become a Machinist from Richland Community College. An extremely hard-working man, after retiring from Caterpillar he went on to work at Benson Signs. He was a loving husband to Bonnie Gessford who met him in Heaven on October 1st. He was the best father imaginable to his daughter Abriana Gessford and was an amazing doting paw paw to his granddaughter Payton Gessford. Anyone who knew him knew what a kindhearted, generous, ingenious person he was. He loved walleye fishing, his family, and just being with his family and friends. He brought out and only seen the best in everyone.
He leaves behind an abundance of memories, and big footsteps to follow. He is survived by his daughter, Abriana Gessford, granddaughter, Payton Gessford, brothers, Floyd (Bonnie) Gessford, Craig Gessford, sister-in-law Karen Carry, honorary brother, Tony Chandler and wife Shelly Merriman-Chandler, multiple nieces, nephews and even more great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bonnie, grandson, Gabriel Gessford, and nephew, Mark Gessford.
The impact of his character will live on forever in those still living that knew him.
