Dennis Eugene Leslie, 72, of Decatur, Illinois passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020.
There will be a celebration of life in Decatur, IL, after the Covid-19 pandemic is under control and we are all released from quarantine. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements
Dennis was born in July of 1947, in rural Warrick County, IN, the son of James L. & Hazel E. Leslie.
Dennis served proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He enlisted with the United States Navy in May of 1965, studying machinery repair and received an honorable discharge in December of 1971. He worked in machining for several decades, owning Innovative Metalworking in Warrensburg, IL until he joined the IBEW and worked at various locations around the US.
Dennis married Sheila A. on August 14, 1988.
Dennis is survived by his wife: Sheila Leslie of Decatur, IL; son: Dennis (Lisa) Leslie, of Mt. Zion, IL; daughter: Jody Kercheval of Macon, IL; grandson: Brian G. Leslie of Mt. Zion, IL; granddaughters: Alyssa (Corey) Mize of Cerro Gordo, IL; Jessica Kercheval of Decatur, IL; great grandson: Oliver Mize; great granddaughters: Chloe, Rebecca and Phoebe Burleson; step-sons: Phil (Kristen) Mosser and Curtis Mosser of Decatur; step-grandsons: Lane Mosser of Lake City, Bailey Mosser and Ares Mosser of Decatur; step-granddaughter: Winry Mosser, Decatur; Sisters: May Kercheval, Candice (Dywane) Smiley, Hazel (Keith) Erwin, Otto (Cheri) Leslie, Lloyd Leslie and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
