Don was born in August of 1951 in Springfield, IL., to Donald and Dolores  Hickman. He married Margaret in August of 1978. Don served our country as a Specialist in the Army, in Korea, after being drafted during the Vietnam War. He worked for 31 years at United Parcel Service, retiring at age 50. Don never met a stranger and was known for his easy smile and conversation. He loved golfing and scored a hole-in-one at Scovill Golf Course on hole #16 on June 17, 2006. He also loved keeping his yard immaculate and could give you directions to what seemed like anywhere without consulting a map. In recent years you could hear Don brag on his two grandkids and on the amazing baseball skills of his nephew, Mason Hickman. His legacy of hard work and responsibility towards his family will not be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Decatur, daughter Randi (Ian) Johnston of Hendersonville, TN., daughter Tracy (Matt) Daugherty of Champaign, IL., grandchildren Amelia and Guthrie Johnston, brother Patrick (Linda) Hickman of Brooklyn, MI., brother Tyler (Lorie) Hickman of Hendersonville, TN., many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and his beloved dachshund Frank.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Chasity Rose Hickman.
