Erma Elaine Williams, 86, of Decatur went to be with her Lord Jesus at 12:05 pm. Friday, February 17, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Erma’s life will be held at 12:00- noon Tuesday February 21, 2017 at ( St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, #1 Bachrach Ct., Decatur, IL 62526) with Pastor Wray Offermann officiating. Visitation will be two hours before service time also at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Northeast Community Fund. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Erma was born in February of 1930 in Decatur, the daughter of Emil E. and Clara Emma Kubow. She graduated from Decatur High School. Erma married Ivan E. Williams in March of 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her children, Gene (Ellen) Williams of Effingham, IL, Rob (Pam) Williams of Witt, IL, Marsha (Jack) Ferguson of Argenta, IL, Marla (Chris) Galka of Decatur, IL, Troy (Tammy) Williams of Greensburg, IN, nine loving grandchildren, 2 special great grandchildren, her brother, Bob (Donna) Kubow of Decatur, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one grandchild.
Erma was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. She had a strong faith in God and loved her family dearly. “We thank you mom for instilling that faith and ability to love in us.”
