Fred Lewis Carbonneau, age 84, died Monday, October 12, 2020.

Fred was born in Springfield, IL in April of 1936, the son of Frederick and Lillie Carbonneau. He honorably served in the Air Force, 170th Fighter Squadron. Fred’s hobbies included target shooting, collecting unique and distinctive knives and a compliation of Air Force memorabilia.

A Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, October 19, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church (650 N. Wyckles Road, Decatur, IL 62522). A Funeral Service celebrating Fred’s life will be Tuesday, October 20 at 10:00 am, also at the church, with Pastor Cliff Jones officiating. A graveside and burial service with military honors will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, following the funeral. Memorials may be made to Fred’s family or New Life Pregnancy Center. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements. 

Fred is survived by his children: two sons, Randy and wife Brenda Carbonneau of Decatur, and Fred Jr. and his wife Debbie Carbonneau of Decatur; two daughters, Jeania and husband Larry Jones of Warrensburg, Illinois, and Sheila Rene’ Carbonneau of Decatur. Grandchildren are April and husband Erik Bennett, Mark and wife Amy Carbonneau, Aaron and wife Carina Carbonneau, Amy and husband Derek Knobeloch, Andrea Carbonneau, Sarah and husband Zac Zepke, and Rebekah and husband Ryan Sanders. Great Grandchildren are Titus and Anna Bennett; Robyn, Evan, and Phillip Carbonneau; Benjamin, Elizabeth, Emily and Jacob Carbonneau; Addi, Elijah, Carter, Jackson and Josiah Zepke; Hunter, Ryder, and Gunner Sanders, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; wife Lula Faye; infant daughter Marjeania; and two brothers.
