Gerald Eugene “Jerry” Trusner, age 74 of Decatur,  died Friday, February 1, 2019 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

A Funeral service to Celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Northwest Christian Church (1306 N. Stanley Ave. Decatur, IL.) with Pastor Steve Higgs officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church Tuesday evening, February 5, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour before the funeral service. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Jerry was born in September of 1944 in Decatur son of Robert E. and Wilma J. Trusner. He graduated from Niantic Harristown High School. Jerry was a proud member of the Teamster Union and a truck driver for T&R Transit. He married Dixie A. Merriman in August of 1964. He later married Teresa A. Meece in September of 1982.

Surviving is his wife, Teresa Trusner, son, Jerry (Shannon) Trusner of Atlanta, GA., daughters, Michelle (Jeremy) Gorrell of Decatur, Danene (Joshua) Rash of Bloomington, IL., Natalie Trusner (Mike Castellani) of Batavia, IL., grandchildren, Rylee Trusner and Sophia Gorrell, brothers, Terry (Arlene) Trusner, Tim (Ronna) Trusner, sisters, Linda Dowling, Barb (Ken) Wilkin.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
