James Douglas (JD) Cravens, 58 of Bethany died in his home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 with his wife by his side.
Graveside service 10:00 am. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Boiling Springs Cemetery. Military Rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family with the arrangements.
J.D. was born in Huntsville, Alabama in September of 1962, the son of Douglas A. and Teresa Cravens. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in Decatur, IL., and attended Richland Community College. He worked for Revereware in Clinton, IL., and Service Master in Decatur. He served in the U.S. Army. He married his longtime sweetheart of 20 years Corina Escobar on March 31, 2007.
Surviving is his wife Corina Cravens of Bethany, mother, Teresa, step-sons, James Mendenall, Joseph Menter (Sammi), Jesse Menter, sisters, Denise Wiggins (Randy), Arricka V. Newingham (Paul), brother, Douglas Cravens, grandchildren, Audrey, Amelia, Gabriel, Joshua, nieces, Valerie, Tiffany, Beth, Abston, Isabella, Ashley, Chela, Annette, Halee, Kinslee, Olivia, Ellie, Lily and Evie, nephews, Ben, Bramm, Jacob, Mason, Richard, Christopher, Taylor, Cameron, sisters-in-law, Christina Leigh (Richard), Carmen Pirtle (Brian), Janet McQueen, special friends, Tim Daniels, Melissa Austin and his beloved Cat, Bubba Kitty.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Cravens, sister, Carol E. Gifford, brother-in-law, John Gifford and his grandparents.
J.D. loved old time Rock and Roll music, spending time with family. His hobbies were model trains, reading. He was a big fan of Alabama Football, Christmas time and the fourth of July.
