Joan C. Bliler, 93, died on August 23, in her home at Primrose Retirement Community, Decatur, IL. Joan was born in May of 1926 to Lynn Watsonand Edith Clark. She attended Decatur Public Schools, and then attended Northwestern University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, She married William G. Bliler in October of 1947.
Joan was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a member and past President of Chapter CS of PEO, a former Girl Scout leader, and a member of Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Jennifer L. Orange; son-in-law Michael Orange; grandchildren Jeffrey Young, Bend, Oregon; Nicholas Young (Megan), Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jennifer Ritter (John), Peoria, Illinois; Steve Orange (Ingrid Anderson), Sisters, Oregon; and great grandchildren Elaina and Carson Young, Eleanor and Benjamin Ritter, and Avery and Ani Orange. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Clark Eshelman; her parents, and her nephew, Douglas Clark Eshelman.
According to Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation, and private family services will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Kemmerer Village, 941 N. 2500 E. Road, Assumption, Illinois 62510-9706 or Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1360 West Main Street, Decatur, Illinois. 62522-1948. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.
Joan was a caring, loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and is greatly missed.
