John R. “Luke” Luckenbill, 69, of Decatur went home to Jesus at 2:27 a.m. Sunday, June 13th in his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with services to follow at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Brown officiating.
Tanzyus-Logan is in charge of the arrangements.
John was born in December of 1951, to Lawrence and Maveline Luckenbill.
A graduate from Argenta-Oreana High School, he spent years as a competitive racecar driver and retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of service, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 2010 and remained an active member of Central Baptist Church until the day of his passing. John had a big heart and will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his brother; Randy Luckenbill; a nephew, Brian Luckenbill; a niece, Kim Luckenbill and his lifelong O’ buddy Alan Sample.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and two brothers.
