Jon “Roger” Browning, 70 of Decatur passed away on Saturday December 16, 2017 in his home with his wife by his side.
Graveside service will be 10:30 am Friday, December 22, 2017 at West Franz Cemetery in Oakley Township near Cerro Gordo. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Garver Brick United Methodist Church.
Roger was born in January of 1947 in Decatur, Illinois, son of Mildred O. Browning and Orville L. Browning. He worked for Firestone and retired from Alert Construction. He enjoyed camping, canoeing and NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his wife Terri Jasper Browning, son, Mathu Browning, five grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one step-daughter, LaRae (Paul) Roberts, four step-grandchildren, sisters, Donna (Browning) Spent of Oreana, Carol (Browning) Jolly of Decatur, brother, Tom (Dottie) Browning of New Jersey, former wife, Wanda, his grandchildren’s mother, Amanda Wren, several nieces and nephews and many people who love and miss him. Also, Roger loved his cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeff “Philo” and one brother, Bob Browning.
