Joni M. Danbury, age 65, of Decatur, died Thursday, September 17, 2020 in her residence surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, September 22, 2020 at Heartland Community Church (3253 N. Brush College Rd., Decatur, IL) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral will take place Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (#1 Bachrach Court, Decatur, IL) at 10:00 am with Pastor Wray Offermann officiating. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.
Joni was born in September of 1955 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Earl Bollhorst and Wanda Lee Jean Parrill. She married Chuck Danbury in May of 1976. Joni graduated from MacArthur High School in 1973 and attended Richland Community College. She worked at Aramark Distribution Center for 23 years, retiring in August of 2020, and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; sons: Matthew (Julia) Danbury and Jesse (Casey) Danbury; grandchildren Amaia, Grayson, Brayden and Elijah; parents; her three brothers: Steve Bollhorst, Randy (Gaye) Bollhorst, Gene (Bev) Bollhorst and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joni loved the Lord! Her favorite Bible verses were John 3:16 and Numbers 6:24, 25, and 26. Her favorite seasons were spring and summer, planting flowers, taking walks, laying in the sun and watching Hallmark movies. She loved making memories with her family, grandchildren and friends.
