Ken was born in February of 1939 in Taswell, Indiana, the son of Ollie C. Hall and Mabel A. Hall. He was the eldest of four children. He graduated from Loogootee High School, Loogootee, Indiana. He married his beloved Shirley J. Hall in April of 1957. They moved to Decatur, IL in 1958 where Shirley worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, then Ken got a job at Caterpillar. He was an accomplished carpenter prior to the job at Cat and it was a lifelong passion. He built their house at 29 years of age. After 30 years, he retired from Caterpillar, and then Ken had his own business (Ken’s Repairs).
As a member of Harvest Christian Church, Ken served in Missions. He helped build the Laredo Stepping Stones, a Mission Facilitation Center in Laredo, Texas, where their son Richard serves missionaries in Mexico. They wintered in Florida with their daughter and family and Texas with their son and family for 20 years.
Ken is survived by his wife, Shirley Hall of Decatur, IL; children, Robin (Gene) Campbell, Decatur, IL and Richard Hall of Laredo, TX; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There is also one sister, Janice (Gene) Cossler, Jasper, IN, one brother, Donald (Jeanine) Hall, Loogootee, IN, and sister-in-law, Diana Hall, Jasper, IN, as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Karen Enlow of Loogootee, IN. He was preceded by his parents, one daughter-in-law, Kimberly Hall and one brother, Terry Lee Hall.
Shirley and Ken went to Hawaii for their 50th anniversary. Later they went to the Holy Land and on a Caribbean cruise. His family part of life was his family and he loved Christian music. He enjoyed bowling, playing Mexican Train and camping. The family will miss family get togethers and daily phone calls to his children to greet them for the day.
Special thank you to Gene Campbell, son-in-law, and daughter Robin Campbell for loving care of Kenneth.
