Arvil D Eugene Hullinger, 81 of Decatur died 12:17 pm. Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral service celebrating Gene’s life will be 2:00 pm. Sunday, January 28, 2018 at First Christian Church (3350 N. MacArthur Road Decatur, Illinois 62526) with Pastor Wayne Kent officiating. Burial will be private at Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements. Gene was born in December of 1936 in Decatur son of John Edward and Margaret E. Hullinger. Gene served in the U.S. Army from October 1956 to October 1958. He was a manager for Mueller Company. Gene married Janet Boggs in June of 1960, she preceded him in death in March of 2003. Surviving are his sons, Jeffery Hullinger and Kurtis (Lane) Hullinger, grandchildren, Nolan Charles Hullinger, Mia Mary Lee Hullinger and Landon Kurtis Hullinger, sisters, Mary Paxton and Harriett Daniels, brother, Golden (June) Hullinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Robert and Jasper Hullinger, sister, Pearl Noble.
