Barbara Sue Marquardt 79 of Decatur died in her residence at 11:59 pm Sunday October 18, 2026, with her family by her side.

A memorial service will be held on Monday October 26, 2026, beginning at 5:00 pm. at St. John's Lutheran Church. The family will greet friends one hour before at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Barb was born in April of 1947, in Hillsboro, Illinois, daughter of Albert and Velma Mehochko. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School. Barb worked in the mechanical office for ADM. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church Decatur. She was a very good cook and baker. Barb loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She faced her illness with strength and grace and never complained. Barb married Larry G. Marquardt August 14, 1965, on the hottest day of the summer with no air conditioning at the Nokomis Lutheran Church. Larry survives after sixty-one years together.

Also surviving are her 2 sons, Jeff (Julie) Marquardt of Mt. Zion, Kelly (Jennifer) Marquardt of Monticello, 5 grandchildren, Ashley, Kollin, Brittany, Alex, Clayton, 5 great grandchildren, Kason, Layton, Lydia, Amelia, and Hadley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Jim Mehochko.
