Betty Ruth Raney, 78 of Decatur passed away at 6:45 pm. Sunday, May 14, 2017 in McKinley Court Nursing Home.\nFuneral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Tabernacle Baptist Church (650 North Wyckles Road Decatur, IL. 62522) with Pastor Cliff Jones officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nBetty was born in October of 1938 in Philo, IL., daughter of Harland C. and Anna Conley. She was an avid gardener and member of the Garden Club and Tabernacle Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, eating out and taking care of her family. She worked as an agent in Real Estate and a home maker. Betty married John W. Raney in October of, 1955 in Charleston, IL.\nSurviving is her husband, John W. Raney, son, David T. (Angela) Raney, of Decatur, step-daughter, Sharon Harris, grandsons, John D. Raney of Bloomington, IL., Zachary M. Raney, of Addison, IL., four step grandchildren, brother, Harold Conley of TN.\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, son, John Michael Raney and sisters, Christine and Vicky.
