Beverley “Jean” Jenkins, 79 of Decatur died in her home at 8:00 pm. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 with her family by her side.\nA funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Life Builders Church of God (833 West Pershing Road Decatur, IL 62526). Visitation will be Monday, September 23, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the church. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery Long Creek. Memorials if desired may be made to the family. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nJean was born in October of 1939 in Springfield, Illinois the daughter of Bert and Esther Humphrey. She enjoyed working with the public as co-owner of Jenkins Automotive from 1974 – 2001 and Walgreens following that. She married Herschel Jenkins in May of 1960 and he preceded her in death in January of 2011. Jean was an avid bowler and served on the board of the DWBA. She was a member of Life Builders Church of God. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her favorite pastime.\nSurviving are her son, Mike (Dani) Hudson, daughter, Sue (Kerry) Barnett; grandchildren, Danielle (Jevon) Thomas, Daphne (Mathew Duncan) Bollhorst and Darci (Austin) Seevers; great-grandchildren, Melinda (Josh) Philipson, Austin, Bryce (Breanna) and Carly Thomas, Kobe, Karson and Kellen Bollhorst, Dominick Danbury, Andrew, Ashlyn, Ava and Weston Duncan; great-great grandson, Liam Philipson; adopted family, Lydia, Addison, Jordan and Arielle Watters.\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.\nThe family would like to thank Susan Cearlock, Joanne Coleman, and Elara Caring for the wonderful care they provided.
