A celebration of Caren’s life will begin with visitation at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at The Cross Church, (3253 N. Brush College Rd., Decatur, IL.) Burial will take place at Graceland Fairlawn Cemetery (2091 N. Oakland Avenue, Decatur, IL.) following the service. Caren was born on March 19, 1956, in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Clifford Leo Bishop and Nancy Ann Rivers. She graduated from MacArthur High School in 1977. On August 31, 1979, Caren married Donald E. Hobbs, and together they had four children.

Caren retired from McKinley Court Laundry after 19 years of dedicated service. She was a proud member of the American Legion and The Cross Church. Caren loved square dancing, playing Bunco, cards, and other games—especially with her nieces and nephews. She had a deep love for horses, collecting photographs, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Caren is survived by her daughters, Tera and Amanda; stepdaughter, Dawn Rene Millspaugh (Kevin); sisters, Debra Kennedy (Doug) and Laurie Bishop, all of Illinois; brother, Rick Bishop (Tina) of Florida; half-sister, Rose Porter (Frank) of Virginia; six grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; two sons, J.R. and Adam; her parents; her in-laws; one brother; and one half-sister.

The family extends special thanks to Elera Hospice for the thoughtful and compassionate care of our loved one. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with interment expenses.

Please sign the family guestbook.
