Cathy Lynn Burrus 71, of Decatur passed on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Imboden Creek Senior Living Center and Rehabilitation.

A family-led memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at First Baptist Church (1321 W. Arbor Drive 62526) Pastor John Parrish will be officiating. Family request casual attire. Memorials can be made to the charity of donor’s choice. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting with arrangements.

Cathy was born in September of 1955, daughter of Mack Eller and Barbara Ann Burrus. She worked as an administrative assistant in Orange County, Florida School District and also a longtime employee of the YMCA in Decatur, Illinois. Cathy will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Survived by her brother; Jay (Martha Pritchett) Burrus, sister; Kim (Rick Jordan) Covey, nieces; Kelsey (John) Parrish, Christina Covey, and Shelbie (Michael) Rogers, great nieces and nephews; Kaidden Marksberry, Peyton Parrish, Piper Parrish, Paisley Parrish, Wally Rogers, and Luca Rogers, and Uncle; Bob (Debbie) Burrus.
