David Burns

David J. "JR" Burns 47 of Forsyth died 7:35 pm. Friday (May 19, 2006) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be 1:00pm. Wednesday (May 24) at Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Rawlings officiating. A memorial service will be 6:30 pm. Wednesday at the Forsyth Community Center (268 Elwood St. Forsyth). Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Decatur. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Jr was born in June of 1958 in Decatur son of Bobby J. & Delores M. Gibbons Burns. He grew up in Maroa attending Maroa-Forsyth schools. He worked for the Village of Forsyth in Public Works for thirteen years until April 29, 2005, when the affects of a brain tumor left him disabled.

He is survived by his mother, Delores M. Burns, of Decatur, brother, George Burns DA, of Springfield, sister, Crystal Burns of Colorado, special friends, (The Rat Pack) Pat Moore, John Marsh & Cindy Wickline, nephew & niece, Justin and Jessica and their mother Julie Burns.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He was a good son, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. The rat pack will truly miss their good friend JR.
