David Wayne Daniels, 68 of Decatur passed away at 8:54 pm. Friday, February 9, 2018 in Carle Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.\nFuneral service to celebrate David’s life will be 10:30 am. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Harvest Christian Center (2199 North Water Decatur, Illinois 62526). Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm. Thursday February 15, 2018 also at the church. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois or to Harvest Christian Center. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nDavid was born June 8, 1949 in Decatur son of John E. and Lillie M. Daniels. He graduated from Eisenhower High School. David served as a Master Sgt. Jet Aircraft Mechanic in the U.S. Air Force 1968 to 1972. He worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor. Previously he worked for A.E. Staley and Otis Elevator Co. He enjoyed old cars as a member of the Early Idlers Club. He also enjoyed camping, boating and wood working. in October of 1973 David married Joyce E. Blakeman.\nSurviving are his wife, Joyce, son, Jon (Angela) Daniels, daughter, Courtney (Neil) Barding, grandchildren, Mikali Daniels, Corban Daniels, Milaina Daniels and Logan Barding, brother, Steve Daniels, several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews all who are well loved.\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.
