Debbie Dickson, age 57, of Decatur, IL passed peacefully in her sleep November 23rd, 2021. Debbie was preceded in death by brothers Danny, Dexter and Jeff Shelton, brother in law Don Steffen, nephew Matthew Shelton, and good friends Barb Basil and Diane Rule. \n\nShe leaves behind many family and friends including her husband James Dickson, daughter Destiney (Zachary) Kramer, sister Cletta Steffen, brothers Bill and J.R (Cheryl) Shelton, and nieces Ashley Ball and Angela Rice. \n\nDebbie was born in April of 1964 in Glasgow, Kentucky and moved to Decatur later in her childhood. At the age of 26 she met and married her husband James. She enjoyed painting, drawing, and sewing. She loved to make gifts for those close to her. She was also known for her love of animals, green thumb, humor, and spunky personality. \n\nThe family would like to thank the Loft Rehabilitation Center and Transitions Hospice Care for the care given to Debbie, especially during her last few months. \n\nA family-led graveside service will be held at Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek, IL Friday, December 3rd at 2 p.m. A memorial service will then be held in honor of Debbie from 3:30 to 5:30 at Crusaders Church in Decatur. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family with arrangements.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Macon County Animal Shelter, Dementia Society of America, and/or Growing Strong Sexual Assault Center in her name.
