Donald Dean Oyler, age 92 of Decatur, died at 6:30 pm. Sunday, February 10, 2019 in Blessing Hospital Quincy, Illinois.\nA family-led memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Northwest Christian Church (1306 North Stanley Avenue Decatur, IL. 62526) A visitation will be at 10:00 am. to 11:00 am. Saturday, also at the church. Private inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Northwest Christian Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family with the arrangements.\nDon was born in Decatur, IL., in August of 1926 the son of Ora and Lena Oyler. Don served in the U.S. Nave in the Pacific during World War II. He worked as a Carman for the Wabash Railroad and later as a supervisor for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. Don was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Castle Williams American Legion Post 105 and Northwest Christian Church. He married Betty J. Cravens in June of 1950 and she preceded him in death in September of 2010.\nSurviving are his children, Michael (Susan) Oyler, Natalie Bullington of Decatur, Amy (Thomas) Mowles of Sandusky, Ohio, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two daughters , one son and his brothers and sisters.\nThe family would like to thank the staff at the Veterans Home in Quincy, Illinois.
