Elaine Lenore Feldman McClain, 80, passed Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Eastview Terrace in Sullivan, Illinois.\nThere will be a family-led memorial service on Monday, March 9, 2020, at 3:00 pm in Maranatha Assembly of God Church (555 W. Imboden Drive, Decatur, IL) with Pastor Doug Lowery officiating. There will be a burial service after the memorial service at the church. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.\nElaine was born in November of 1939, daughter of Dr. Nathanial and Fay Tushman Feldman in Detroit, Michigan. She lived in various places throughout her life, such as California, New York and Decatur, Illinois. Elaine graduated from high school in Detroit, then went to Boston Conservatory and the Pasadena Playhouse (acting school). She raised championship dogs and won many blue ribbons. A couple of her dogs were in a movie in Hollywood with George Hamilton. When living in the Decatur area, Elaine worked at K’s Merchandise Mart headquarters and served as an election judge in Elwin, IL.\nElaine loved Maranatha Church and was a willing worker at the church helping wherever she could. Her church family and friends were very special to her, especially Pastors Dean and Darlene Rose.\nShe deeply loved her family. She is survived by her sister, Joan Schwartz; four nephews (David Schwartz, Randy (Lesli) Schwartz, Jeffery (Cathy) Schwartz, and Steven (Laurel) Schwartz) and their families, great nieces and nephews.\nElaine was preceded by her parents and brother-in-law.\nThe family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital, the staff at Hickory Point Christian Village in Forsyth, IL, the staff at Eastview Terrace in Sullivan, IL and friends and staff at Evergreen Court.
