Gary Lee Witts, 83 of Decatur passed away at 11:05 pm. Monday February 12, 2024, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at 2:00 pm. Friday February 16, 2024, at Ritchie Cemetery Oakley, Illinois. Military Rites will be provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the donor’s choice. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Gary was born in Decatur, Illinois in December of 1940, the son of Gilbert and Bernice Witts. Gary served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a carpenter working for Midstate Elevator and worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 15 years. Gary married Margaret and she died in May of 2017.

Surviving is his sister, Sharol Cole of Casey, Illinois, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews brothers-in-law, Vern Nichols of Mississippi and Ron Nichols of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, David and Wade Witts.

He was a loving brother and uncle and will be deeply missed.
