Gene Austin Peters, 72 of Decatur passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.\nGene was born in September of 1944 in Poca Princess, West Virginia, the son of Carl and Mary Peters and step-father, Frank Martin. He retired from Sunbeam Bread as a route driver. He was a very proud man and always put his family first. He was married to Teresa Peters on in October of 1970.\nGene leaves behind his wife, Teresa, daughter, Tanya (Clifford) Cobb, grandsons, Braxton Wilder and Ray Bates Jr., granddaughters, LaSasha Wilder and Clytasia Lambert, great grandson, Ry’Lan Wilder, sister, Glenna (Robert) Watson of Indiana, brother, Larry (Pat) Peters of West Virginia, sister, Charlotte (Ralph) Cregger of West Virginia and a host of nieces and nephews.\nWe would like to thank the staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital, friends and family for their Loving Care Prayers and Support during this difficult time.\nPer Gene’s wishes there will be no services planned.
