Glenda Kay Yancey, 78 of Decatur Illinois died in her home on Sunday, September 15, 2019 with her family by her side.\nThe family is respecting her wishes that no formal funeral services be held. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Hooved Animal Humane Society.\nGlenda was born in April of 1941 in Moweaqua, Illinois, the daughter of Lewis and Ruby Evelyn Sheets. She graduated from Mt. Zion High School, Class of 1959 and after graduation, in August of 1959 Glenda married Ceals Yancey Jr. In her early career she served as a supervisor in the Macon County Circuit Clerks office, and in later years she greeted clients with a smile at Pat Fletcher Tax Service, McAtee Financial Services, and Mike Wilhoit Accounting and Tax Service in Mt. Zion.\nGlenda was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. As evident by her ever-present smile, Glenda thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially summers on Lake Decatur while boating with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her caring and optimism made the world a brighter place for everyone that knew her. She loved horses and was active in the Pony of the Americas Club with horse Tig for many years, and later adopted a rescue horse named Penny.\nShe is survived by her husband of 60+ years Ceals Yancey Jr., son Kurt T. Yancey of Decatur, daughter Kara R. (Yancey) Fussner of St. Louis, Missouri, grandchildren, Kati Fuquay, Kaleb Yancey, Kassandra Yancey, and Sean, A.J. and Evelyn Kay Fussner, and great-grandchildren, Skylar, Bentley, Graceson and Aurora.\nShe was preceded in death by her parents.\nTanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
