Harry Brandenburg

Harry J. Brandenburg, 92, of Decatur, died 8:46 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at Mary Lou's Country Abode, Buffalo. Visitation will be Friday, January 23rd from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Christian Church (3350 N. MacArthur Rd.) Decatur. Private graveside and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brandenburg was born in October of 1911 in Casey, son of Bethel and Bell Sarah Garrett Brandenburg. He was a World War II Armey veteran, and a Mason. He worked for many years as a boiler maker welder for A.E. Staley Mfg. Harry married Dorothey M. Burk on November 30, 1946. She preceded him in death May 21, 2003.

Surviving are his daughter Pam Maxey and husband Doug of Decatur; grandchildren Jaymie Brandenburg and wife Jennifer; Chelsea and Colby Maxey all of Decatur; sisters Edith Bonds and Eva Elder of Decatur and Billie Hoffman of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and one sister. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was looking forward to his first great-grandchild due in April.
