James Roger “Spark Plug” DeCicco, 74, of Decatur died Saturday, August 14, 2021 in the Decatur Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.\n\nA visitation for Jim will be 5 to 7 pm Friday, August 20, 2021 at the First Freewill Baptist Church (2709 N. 27th Street, Decatur, IL. 62626). Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 21, 2021 also at the church. Memorials if desired may be made to the American Heart Association. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\n\nJim was born in September of 1946 in Streator, IL., son of John A. and Versal Orr DeCicco. He worked for the Red Wheel, Western Pancake House, and Wagner Casting Intermet retiring in 2003. Jim was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. He married Mary L. Speagle in September of 1970. She preceded him in death in 2019.\n\nSurviving are his children, daughter Julia Davis, son Bradley Aaron (Cathie) DeCicco of Decatur; grand kids, Desiree (Ashley) Wright, DeWayne Cobb, Dianthe Cobb, Dustin Cobb, all of Decatur; great grandchildren, Jayden, Antonio, Ja’Rell, Dre'Tarius.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister and brother.
