James Mathis

James D. Mathis, 32, of Decatur died 8:08 p.m. Wednesday (July 16, 2003) in St. Frances Medical Center, Peoria.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Mount Gilead Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: to the family.

James was born in April of 1971, in Los Angeles County, Calif., the son of James R. and Rachel Glass Mathis. He worked as a roofer for A-1 Construction.

Surviving are his partner in life, Kimberly Keith; mother of Collinsville; children, Devin, Kameryn and Niki Mathis; sister, Lisa Mathis; brothers David (Tracy) Mathis; Roy Mathis and partner Margo Kimbrell; Ronald (Krystal) Mathis; Nephews, Matthew, Jason, Chance, Garrit, Brenden and Jeffrey; nieces, Kristin and Skylar Mathis; many aunts, uncles and cousins; his employer and close friends, Al and Lisa Goodwin.

He was preceded in death by his father; infant son, Alexander Mathis; grandparents, Wilma Simonin; Edna Stevens; Doris Fickes; Roy E. Mathis; Roy A. Glass; nephews, David, Steven and River.

James will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
