Jane Gerhardt

Jane Irene Gerhardt, age 80 of Decatur, died at 10:20 am Tuesday March 14, 2023, in her home.

A Funeral Service to Celebrate Jane’s life will be held at 11:00 am. Monday March 20, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (1 Bacharach Court Decatur, IL. 62526) with Pastor Mark Gearig officiating. Visitation will be two hours before service time at the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is handling the arrangements.

Jane was born in February of 1943 in Decatur daughter of Lorenzo and Pauline Cloyd. She graduated from MacArthur High School in Decatur. She was a homemaker and assisted with operating the Family Business Gerhardt Foods, Inc. Jane was an avid swimmer and water skier in her younger days. She was a loving, caring spirit with a strong faith and very generous. She enjoyed shopping, going to movies, eating out and attending her grandkids events. She married Larry Gerhardt in November of 1969. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (John) Hockaday of Forsyth, IL., Nick (Randy) Malleos of Naperville, IL., Lori (Shannon) Gilbert of Forsyth, IL., grandchildren, Luke (Tessa) Hockaday, Rachel (Tyler) Petersen, Joe and Jack Hockaday, Zach (Amanda) Gilbert, Josh (Alicia) Gilbert, Ben Gilbert, great-grandchildren, Hazel, Houston, Hatcher Hockaday, Shep, Cal and Nolen Petersen, Bentley Gilbert, sister, Jean (Gene) Tracey.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, brother, Larry Cloyd and grandson, Samuel Malleos.
