John Michael Murray, 67 of Macon died 4:45 pm. Friday, November 19, 2021 in his residence.\n\nGraveside service will be 11:00 am. Wednesday November 24, 2021 at South Macon Township Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\n\nJohn was born in February of 1954 at St. Mary’s in Decatur, IL., son of Edward and Frances Murray. John was an active walker, walking several miles and had a compassion for plants. He fought a hard battle with cancer.\n\nSurviving are his mom, Frances Murray of Macon, brothers, Timothy E. Murray of Macon, Grady T. (Paula) Murray of Lovington, Robert H. (Candice) Murray of Moweaqua, sisters, Sharon A. (Robert) Grobelny of Decatur, Patricia M. (Michael) Rhoades of Hillsboro, Connie F. (Todd) Myers of Moweaqua.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his father Edward Murray, grandparents John and Anna Murray, Hallie and Violet McQuality.\n\nThe family wishes to thank the Cancer Care Center of Decatur nurses and staff for the special care given to John during his time of illness. Special thanks to Bonnie his hospice nurse of Kindred Hospice.\n\nJohn was a loving Son, Brother and Uncle and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.\n\nObituary written by family members.
