Joyce Hawkins

Joyce Ruth Hawkins, 78 of Decatur formerly of Burnsville, Minnesota died 2:00 am. Saturday (October 21, 2006) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Per Mrs. Hawkins wishes public services will not be held. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Minnesota Public Golf Association Jr. Golfers Program or to Webster Cantrell Hall.

Joyce was born in August of 1928 in Rochester, New York daughter of Harry & Helen Goetz Ruske. She served in the U.S. Air Force and was a librarian for the Dakota County Library in Burnsville, Minnesota. Joyce was an avid Golfer and loved to read. She was an Ex Officio of the MPGA. She married Donald Hawkins April 4, 1953, in Minnesota. He died in August of 1987.

Surviving are her sons; Jeffrey Hawkins and wife Ruth of Decatur, Peter Hawkins of Burnsville, Mn., grandchildren; Joshua Hawkins and fiancée Amy, Christopher Hawkins and Courtney, Jessica Hawkins, great granddaughter to be; Madison Hawkins, brother; Harry Ruske and wife Pat of Pittsford, N.Y., niece; Nancy, nephews; Ross & Paul. Also surviving are her beloved friends; Kathy Patterson and Margaret Hubbs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
