Hall

Judith (Judy) Kay Hall, 84 of Decatur went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at The Salvation Army of Decatur (229 W. Main St, Decatur, IL 62523). A dinner will be provided after the service, and all are welcome to join. Memorials can be made out to The Salvation Army. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy was born in July of 1940, daughter of John and Florence Tosh. She married Edward B. Hall in August of 1958 and together they raised four children. Judy’s love for Jesus and The Salvation Army where she was a lifetime member brought so much joy to her. Her greatest mission in life was clear: to follow Jesus and serve with a selfless heart. Her unwavering dedication to the Salvation Army was her life's purpose, and she lived out her faith through every action and relationship. Judy’s life was built upon this firm foundation of faith, and she stood strong, serving faithfully. She held many awards and wore many hats, each reflecting her deep commitment. She taught Sunday school, shaped young minds as a youth leader, and nurtured girls as the leader of Sunbeams and Girl Guards. She was also an active member of the YPSM for over 40 years, and the Red Hats and Home League women’s groups, forming lasting friendships and offering support to her community. One of her cherished roles was as a bass drummer in the Salvation Army band, where her joyful music was an offering of love and devotion to God. Judy’s work was never about recognition but about making a difference in the lives of others. Her actions reflected the heart of Psalm 19:14, “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Judy’s life was truly a reflection of her love for God and her desire to bring glory to Him in all things. Her life was a testament to the words of Jesus: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Judy’s legacy will live on in the many lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared. Though she has passed, her spirit remains with us, guiding us to continue the work she began. Rest in peace, Judy. Your work is complete, but your legacy endures in all of us.

Survived by her children; Charles ‘Chuck’ (Kellie) Hall, John ‘Sonny’ (Kathleen) Hall, Becky Barringer and Ronda Hall, brother John ‘Bud’ Tosh, twenty-three grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded by her Husband, both parents and her sister Shirley.
