Kendall Wayne Smith 61 of Warrensburg died at 8:44 pm. Monday May 5, 2025, in St. John’s Hospital Springfield, Illinois.

A funeral service to celebrate Kendall’s life will be held Saturday May 10, 2025, at Life Foursquare Church (2954 W. Ash Avenue Decatur, Illinois) with Pastor Mark Cooper officiating. A visitation will be two hours before service time from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. at the church. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery Warrensburg with Military Rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials if desired may be made to the Warrensburg Fire Department. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Kendall was born in January 1964, at the Great Lakes Naval Base in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Edward L. and Vicki Smith. He was a graduate of Warrensburg High School class of 82. Kendall served four years in the U.S. Navy from 1984 to 1987. He worked as a paramedic for Hickory Point Township and was a volunteer fireman with the Warrensburg Fire Department. Kendall was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed smoking and grilling out, riding his Harley, playing golf and fishing, he enjoyed playing with the grandkids and hanging out in his cousin Jim’s man cave. In May of 1988 he married Sabrina Gregory, and she survives him.

Also surviving are his children, Dalton Smith, Clinton (Chloe) Smith and Roma Smith, grandchildren, Ellie Smith and Ranger Dugan, brothers, George (Shari) Smith and Ron (Marla) Smith, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
