Kenneth Earl Tatum Sr., 74 of Decatur passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in the emergency room at Decatur Memorial Hospital.\n\nA funeral service to celebrate Kenneth’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Way of Life Christian Center (730 East Wood Street Decatur, IL. 62523). Visitation will be 10:00 AM to service time on Monday also at the church. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery Springfield, IL. with Military Honors. Memorials may be made to Way of Life Christian Center. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\n\nKenneth was born in November of 1947, in Decatur son of Morris and Dorothy Tatum. He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School. Kenneth was a highly decorated Viet Nam Army veteran. He worked for A.E. Staley Manufacturing. He loved fishing and his family.\n\nSurviving are his daughters, Tiffany Jones, Mahogany Jones, Mashanna Tatum, sons, Kenneth Tatum Jr., Shawnta Tatum, Stevie Tatum, stepson, Shannon Jones, brothers, Jerry Tatum, Morris Tatum, Donnie Tatum, Edward Tatum, sisters, Libby Hardison-James, Marsha Huffman, Deborah Hawkins many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Jones, brother, Billy Tatum, stepson, Raymon Jones and a grandson, Marshon Tatum.\n\nThanks to the Oasis Center for all they did for Kenneth.
