Lawrence “Larry” Alfred Miller, 95 of Macon, formerly of Forsyth passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Eastern Star Home of Macon.

A visitation with family and friends will be held 5-7 pm on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care (2442 North Route 121 Decatur, Illinois 62526). A graveside service and burial will be at a later date at Mt. Gilead Cemetery on Mt. Gilead Road in Decatur. Memorials can be made to Town Square Hospice in Monticello, Illinois (112 W. Washington Street, Suite 2b, Monticello, Illinois 61856) or to Eastern Star Home in Macon, Illinois (9890 Star Lane, Macon, Illinois 62544). Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Larry was born in May of 1931, in Detroit, MI, son of Ernest and Lena Miller. He worked for Caterpillar until retiring in 1991 and was a member of the UAW 751. Larry married Martha in August of 1951, and together they raised their beautiful family until she preceded him in February of 2025. He enjoyed softball and took great pride in coaching his sons and their friend’s youth softball team, the Miller Highlifers. Larry will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Surviving is his sons; John (Valerie) Miller of Decatur, Daniel (Teri) Miller of Mt. Zion, Jim (Karissa) Miller of Decatur, Tom (Joyce) Miller of Phoenix, AZ., son-in-law, Steve Schollmeier of Oreana, sisters; Sandy Ratter of MI, and Beverly Starcher of KY, eighteen grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Miller, his daughter, Janet Schollmeier, his parents, brother Alan Miller and sister Pat Smith.
