Loris Kay “Lorie” Harnish, 80, of Decatur, was called to her eternal home Wednesday, October 25, 2017, during her stay at Decatur Memorial Hospital.\nFuneral Services will be 11:30A.M. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Wray Offermann officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 on Wednesday in the Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.\nTanzyus Logan Funeral Services is in Charge of arrangements.\nLorie was born in Decatur, Illinois, in February of 1937, the daughter of Loran LeeRoy and Ruth Lois Gordon. Lorie loved people, needlework (especially knitting and quilting), birds, flowers, and the St. Louis Cardinals. The simplest of pleasures gave Lorie great joy, and she had a quick and lively sense of humor. Her heart was full of compassion and care, and her ears were always inclined to listen to the concerns of others.\nShe was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur where she married Bill Harnish in 1957, and she was a wonderful mom to two children, Janie Rast and husband Bill of Springfield, Illinois, and Bradley Harnish of Decatur. Her husband, children and many other loving family members survive.\nLorie was preceded in death by her parents, and six siblings, four brothers and two sisters.\nA special thanks to the staff on the 4th floor and doctors at Decatur Memorial Hospital and Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice for their tender care of Lorie.
