Yukon, Oklahoma
Louis Edward Hall, Sr., 86 of Macon, IL passed away at his daughter’s home in Yukon, OK surrounded by family.
Louis, commonly referred to as Louie, was born May 24, 1938, to William and Edna (Adcock) Hall of Oakley, IL. He spent his formative schooling years in Cerro Gordo, IL. Later he went on to get an Electrician Apprenticeship through AE Staley, gaining employment in that field at Grain Systems Incorporated until he retired. He married Margaret (Peggy) Budde in June of 1969 spending nearly every day together for the last 55 years. Louie was a family man who, despite being strict at times, showed up with much love and compassion whenever he was needed. He had never known a stranger, helping anyone he could with grace and some humor because that’s just who he was. Louie was a Christian who loved His Savior Jesus Christ and his church family at Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL. He was knowledgeable about many different subjects, always giving advice from lessons learned that many of us still cherish today. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing card games, dancing, singing, and having fun. Finding himself a peaceful fishing spot, watching beautiful birds, metal detecting, mushroom hunting, tinkering and organizing his garage, tending to his garden, perfecting his vegetables and wildflowers, or finding himself a project to build was how he liked spending some of his free time. During the holidays, especially, Louie had perfected the art of making homemade fudge, in a variety of flavors, that he would gift to many. Louie was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan with baseball always on and he would take any opportunity he could to tease a Cardinals fan. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor and loving heart. Louie is deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Services celebrating Louie’s life will be held at a later date.
Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting with the arrangements.
