Marshall D. Conway, 82, of Decatur, Illinois died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.\nA visitation and memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Garver Brick Church (5280 Garver Church Road, Decatur, Illinois ) with a family memorial service following at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Don Long, Sr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Garver Brick UMC. A graveside service and burial will be in Garver Brick Cemetery. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.\nMarshall was born in December of 1935 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Harold and Ruth Conway.\nMarshall is survived by his wife, Nancy McCollum Conway; children: Penny (Chan) Bell of Cadiz, Kentucky, Marcy (Victor) Binkley of Warrensburg, Illinois, Joe (Natalie) Conway of Decatur, Illinois, Jody (Barry) Bourn of Kenney, Illinois, Amy Rainey of Sherman, Illinois; step-children: Don (Sally) Abel of Tallahassee, Florida, Jamie (Shannon) Abel of Westerville, Ohio, Brian (Deanna) Abel, Decatur, Illinois and Beth (Steve) Jones of Edelstein, Illinois. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Marshall has three surviving siblings: George Conway of Lovington, Illinois, Marcia (Ron) Ritchie of Bloomer, Wisconsin, and Cathy Conway of Bartow, Florida; sister-in-law, Sharon Conway, Janet Lamb of Bement, Illinois, sister-in-law and brother- in-law, Kathi (Emery) Kirby of Mendota, Illinois, and his service dog, Colt.\nHe was preceded by his parents, brother, Walt Conway, and grandson, Justin Abel.\nMarshall was a pipefitter with the Union Local #65 for sixty-two years, served on the Whitmore Cemetery board for forty-five years, and a member of Garver Brick UMC. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed running and hunting with his hounds, and fishing. Marshall had a very recognizable laugh. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
