Mary Beals

Mary B. (Harvey) Beals, 80 of Decatur died Wednesday (July 12, 2006) at 6:30 p.m. at home with her family. Private burial will be Friday (July 14th) at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service.

Mary B. (Harvey) Beals was born in January of 1926, to the proud parents of Charlie and Georgia Harvey in Decatur, Illinois. To this union there were 15 children born.

Mary was married to the late Joseph E. Beals. To this union they were blessed with a daughter, Kimberly J. (Beals) Wilson. Mary was a born again Christian and now her spirit rests with the Lord. Mary retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Decatur Memorial Hospital of approximately 20 years.

Mary leaves to cherish a daughter, Kimberly J. (LeShawn) Wilson of Decatur; three grandchildren; LaToya N. Beals, Raven B. Wilson, and Sydni S. Wilson of Decatur, one brother, Elder Charles (Gertrude) Harvey of Decatur, two sisters-in-law, Jean Harvey of Oakland, Ca., and Ethel Scott-Harvey of Chicago, IL., and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and her First Church of God in Christ family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Georgia Harvey, ex-husband, Joseph E. Beals, six brothers; Robert, James, William, George, Peter and Theodore Harvey, six sisters; Henrietta West, Kathryn Lewis, Lula Mae Smith, Eugenia Woods, Jenny Harvey and Pearl Harvey.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at DMH Hospice/Oncology, all of the family and friends that was with her during her last days, and all of the prayers.
