Mary Eva Thomas, 81, of Blue Mound went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 13, 2019.\nFuneral service and visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Moweaqua. Visitation begins at 10:00 am to 11:30 followed by the service. Burial will be in Bilyeu Cemetery Moweaqua. Memorials may be given to Berea Baptist Church P.O.Box 19 Stonington, IL. 62567. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nMary was born in March of 1937 in Haverhill, Massachusetts the daughter of Frank and Rita Serwacki. She was a faithful member of Berea Baptist Church of Stonington, Illinois. A pastor’s wife, she was very devoted to God and helping others. She was a homemaker and loved crocheting baby blankets and cake decorating. Mary and Lyle Eugene Thomas were married in February of 1956 in Forest Glen Chapel of Silver Springs, Maryland.\nSurviving are her husband, Lyle Eugene Thomas of Blue Mound formerly of Stonington, IL., nine children, Marcia (Michael) Shehan of Sherman, IL., Rick Thomas of Alexandria, VA., Donna (Ron) Kempf of Whitewater, KS., Tammy (Stephen) Witt of Taylorville, IL., Karen (Allen) Staley of Lavalette, W.VA., Shelly (Anton) Lehman of Powell, WY., Rachael (Eric) Smith of Blue Mound, IL., Jennifer (E.J.) Kuhl of Okawville, IL., Hannah (Nathan) Wilber of Sunset Hills, MO., twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Frank Serwacki and Paul Serwacki in 2004.
