Family Led Graveside Service Celebrating Melinda's Life Monday, April 26, 2021 Service begins at 10:00 AM West Franz Cemetery Oakley, Illinois 62501 Melinda Rae Pruitt, 65, of Cerro Gordo, passed away at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 15, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. A Family led graveside service will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM at West Franz Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded by Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care in Decatur, Illinois. Memorials can be made to Parkinsons Association. Melinda was born in February of 1956 in Compton, California to Ray and Shirley (Preston) Pruitt. Melinda was passionate about creating new recipes and was an outstanding chef. She loved her son and grandchildren fiercely: they were her pride and joy. She had a witty sense of humor and was fun to spend time with. Melinda was the life of the party. Mostly, she was a mother and grandmother who will be missed tremendously. Surviving is her son, Dustin (Kristin) Pruitt; four grandchildren: TJ, Taylor, and Caily Pruitt and Noah Cunningham; one sister, Marla (Willy) Ewald; one brother, Doug Pruitt; her best friend, Helen Lacox; and her beloved dog, Franky.
