Michael Joseph Kelly, 25, of Decatur, died Saturday, July 31, 2021 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.\n\nA funeral service to celebrate Michael’s life will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Heartland Community Church (3253 N. Brush College Road Decatur 62521). Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, August 6, 2021 also at the church. Remembering the Ride Motorcycle procession to Harristown Cemetery will follow the service on Saturday. A reception will be held following the graveside service at the Harristown Community Center on West Main Street in Harristown. Memorials if desired may be made to the family C/O Thomas Kelly to help with the expenses. Floral arrangements may be sent to Tanzyus-Logan or to the Heartland Community Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\n\nMichael was born in Decatur in June of 1996, son of Thomas and Darlene Kelly. He attended MacArthur High School and was a very considerate and helpful to others young man. He worked in the construction trade and enjoyed fishing and Harley Davidson Motorcycles.\n\nSurvivors are his parents, Thomas and Darlene Kelly of Decatur; brothers, Tommy and Brian, sisters, Tonya, Nichole and Krystle; grandmother, Diane Gule of Connecticut, grandfather, Michael Kelly of Mississippi; uncle, Joe Dery, aunts, Bambi Dery and Jannett Kelly several nieces, nephews and cousins.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jutta “Chris” Kelly and grandfather, Leo Dery.
