Michael Ray “Mike” Severe, 72 of Mt. Zion died Tuesday January 28, 2025, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at 10:00 am Friday February 7, 2025, at Passion Community Church (4225 Camp Warren Lane Decatur, IL. 62521) with Pastor Shane Davis officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Thursday February 6, 2025, also at the church. The burial will be at Bethany Cemetery Assumption, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is handling the arrangements.

Mike was born in July of 1952, in Decatur son of Sally Severe. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School where he played football. He went to trade school and became a plumber and pipe fitter and was a member of the Local 137 Union. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He married Sharree Auton in March of 1975, and she survives him.

Also surviving is his daughter, Angelia Severe, brother, Greg (Diane) Severe, nieces, Raeann and Renee Severe, grandson, Jase Allen, extended family, Caleb (Rachelle) Miller, Kyrie and Deacon Miller, sister-in-law, Brenda Born, nephews, Rick Beals, Nick White and Glenn Walters. He left behind several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded by his mother and daughter Rachel Allen.
